本系宗旨在培育國際一流的化學工程研發及技術人才，暨進行尖端創新之研究。本系教師之研究專長包含分子科學與工程、界面科學及奈米技術、光電與能源技術、清潔生產技術等領域，涵蓋產品與製程的設計、施作、與優化。本系具充沛研究能量，強調學習與產業應用之連結。教學部份兼顧基礎理論與專業技能知識，並提供學生實際動手作之實務課程、暑期實習、與整學期的實習等機會。本系積極推動國際化，提供大學部以及研究所英語課程、與國際化學習環境，以培育具有宏觀視野的化學工程專業人材。

The multidisciplinary research programs provided in the Department of Chemical Engineering include the fields in Molecular Science and Engineering, Interfacial and Nanotechnology, Optoelectronics and Energy-Materials, and Environmental and Clean Production Techniques. The partment prepares English lectured courses in both undergraduate and post-graduate levels. The emphases on providing global learning environment and the extensive linkages with manufacturing sectors can lead to high quality vocational education in Chemical Engineering.
